Bald Head Island Golf Club
Bald Head Island Golf Club is an extremely scenic Southport, NC golf course located on Bald Head Island. The small greens are undulating, and the fairways are narrow.
Located on the southernmost of North Carolina’s barrier islands, this unique golf destination is accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat. With no cars and no crowds, Bald Head Island preserves the natural beauty and stress-free lifestyle of a simpler time. The island includes thousands of acres of protected salt marshes, and a spectacular expanse of maritime forest. The Bald Head Island Club is a Private Club for Members and Registered Guest Members Only. The cost of the roundtrip ferry is included in the greens fee.
This newly renovated, 18-hole course can be challenging, but more importantly, it offers the player an insider’s view of the island. It’s not rare to see a gator sunning itself, ospreys flying overhead, or egrets, fox and deer running across the fairway.
The 16th hole is often referred to as the signature hole for its beautiful scenery, this Par 3 can be as treacherous as it is beautiful. With the Atlantic Ocean in the distance, the elevated tee shot will bring any wind into play. The green is large, but trouble can be found all around the putting surface. A lagoon fronts the green and flanks the entire right side of the green complex.
