From what looked like another choke job on the 13th hole, the finish at The Open turned out to be one of the best by Jordan Spieth. After duck hooking his drive on #13 and having to take an unplayable lie, he had to hit a blind shot over a huge mound to the green. He magically finished the hole with what was a pretty unbelievable bogie and falling a stroke behind Matt Kuchar. From there, his next four holes were birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie to take back the lead. All Kuchar could do was watch. Kuchar played a wonderful 4 round tournament but it wasn’t to be.  Spieth takes the Claret Jug for his 3rd major win before his 24th birthday. Can he get the career grand slam in 2 weeks at the PGA Championship?

Down in Alabama, the PGA Tour was playing the Barbasol Championship. Grayson Murray took advantage of the softer competition to win his first Tour victory posting a 21 under 263 to beat Chad Collins by a stroke.

Another 21 under winner occurred at the LPGA Marathon Classic as In-Kyung Kim shot a final round 63 for a 4 stroke win over Lexi Thompson.
