The season long points contest for the FEDEX Cup ended yesterday with Justin Thomas eking out the victory over buddy Jordan Spieth. With the 2nd place finish at the Tour Championship, the points earned put him on top and put $10 million in his pocket. This has been quite a year for Thomas has he has also visited the winner’s circle 5 times during this past season.

It is also the first time since 2009 that the FEDEX Cup and Tour Champion has not been the same person. This year’s Tour Championship winner is Xander Schauffele. The 4 event playoff provided some excellent golf for the viewers.

Schauffele with hands shaken, dropped a birdie putt on 18 to win by a stroke over Thomas. This was Schauffele’s 2nd win of the season and he pocketed $1.6 million for the win.

On the European Tour, Denmark’s Lucas Bjerregaard entered the Portugal Masters with his tour card on the line. He posted a 65 on Sunday to win his first Euro Tour title by 4 strokes. He gets to keep his card for the next Tour season.

Azahara Munoz successfully defended her title by 2 strokes over Carlota Ciganda and Lee-Anne Pace on the Ladies European Tour. The event was held at Munoz’ home course – Real Club de Golf Guadalmina.
