Brooks Koepka became only the 7th golfer in PGA Tour history to win back to back US Opens. The last to do it before Koepka was Curtis Strand some 29 years ago.

Unlike last year at Erin Hills where he pulled away on the back 9 for the win, this time he had hold off an ever changing leader board which included a 63 round by Tommy Fleetwood who sat in the clubhouse at 2+ for a few hours waiting to see it if would hold up. Koepka had to grind it out down the stretch and unlike many of his close competitors, his flat stick saved him on several holes.

Much has been said about the course setup by many players and some frustration (Mickelson on Saturday???) but Sunday the course was gettable by some with several under 70 scores.

At the Meijer LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids MI, So Yeon Ryu posted a closing 67 to finish at -21 and 2 strokes ahead of Caroline Masson with Lydia Ko another stroke behind.
